USA Red Tops USA Blue 2-0, Advances to WBC Final

In a tightly contested pitcher's duel, USA Red edged USA Blue 2-0 on Sunday to punch their ticket to the Boston World Baseball Classic final, where they’ll face the Dominican Republic.
USA Red broke the scoreless tie in the second inning when Cancel singled in a run. They added another in the fourth on an RBI by Rak, and that proved to be all they needed.
USA Blue starter Rory McDonald was solid despite the loss. The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs on seven hits, while striking out six and walking one.
Rivera earned the win in relief for USA Red, tossing five scoreless innings. He allowed just two hits, struck out seven, and walked one in a dominant performance on the mound.
Offensively, Tyler Croson and Brian Remillard had USA Blue’s only hits of the game. Cancel and Rak led the way for USA Red, each driving in a run. Powell added a spark, going 2-for-3 at the plate.
