The Seacoast Braves exploded offensively on Sunday, handing New Hampshire Granite a 17-4 loss in a game dominated by Braves' bats and big innings.

Granite struck first in the top of the first inning, with Matt Pizzi doubling to left and Erik Rozzi singling to right to give Granite an early 2-0 lead. But that lead was short-lived.

In the bottom of the second, the Braves stormed ahead with an eight-run outburst. Rick Bernard, Peter Gilmore, Chris Mozina, and Tom Labatte each delivered run-scoring hits—Labatte’s double capping the rally with two RBIs.

The Braves kept the pressure on with three more runs in the third, including RBI singles from Todd Langis and Marvin Kelly. Jake Bruce added a two-run home run in the sixth to extend the lead further.

Bruce also earned the win on the mound, tossing seven innings while allowing nine hits and four runs (three earned), striking out eight and walking none.

Jezriel Solis took the loss for Granite, surrendering nine runs (five earned) on seven hits over 1.2 innings. Jacob Spaulding came on in relief, allowing six runs on nine hits across 3.1 innings.

Granite managed nine hits in the loss. Pizzi and Siul Mejia paced the offense with two hits each, hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Pizzi led the team with two RBIs, finishing 2-for-4.

The Braves’ offense was relentless, collecting 20 hits. Gilmore set the tone at the top of the lineup, going 3-for-4. Langis led the team with three RBIs, while Kelly, Bernard, LaBrecque, Mozina, Sean O’Leary, and Nick Arroyo each turned in multi-hit performances. The Braves also showed patience, drawing six walks.

Granite will look to regroup as they prepare for a split doubleheader next Sunday against the Seacoast Braves and Bedford Bisons.
