The Granite State Cardinals struggled to keep pace with the Nashua Rockies in a dominant 13-0 loss on Sunday.
Nashua Rockies jumped out to an early lead in the first inning with a flurry of offense: Landon Henzley singled, driving in two runs; Ryan Lopez and Ryan Slate each doubled, scoring runs; and Luis Sanchez drew a walk that pushed across another run. The Rockies continued their assault in the second inning, adding multiple runs on singles from Kyle Slate, Lopez, and Levis Hernandez, along with a wild pitch and a Sanchez walk, extending their lead comfortably.
The Rockies added another run in the third inning on a Matt Thibault single, completing the scoring.
On the mound, Sam Martin earned the win, tossing two scoreless innings while striking out three. Ryan Smith got the start for Nashua Rockies and held the Cardinals scoreless over two innings, striking out two. Camden Andrick took the loss for the Cardinals, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on eight hits in just 1⅔ innings.
Offensively, the Cardinals managed just four hits, with Jamel Vilmont, Jordan McCluskey, Joe Berman, and Addison Hanscom each collecting one.
Nashua Rockies racked up 12 hits, led by multi-hit efforts from Lopez, Henzley, and Andrew Thibault. Luis Sanchez paced the Rockies with two RBIs.
The Cardinals will look to bounce back at home next Sunday against the New Hampshire Bucks.
